Bell tower at Horečky - Beskyd Guardian

Bell tower at Horečky - Beskyd Guardian

Address: Trojanovice 2, 744 01 Trojanovice, Frenštát pod Radhoštěm

The Guardian Beskyd bell tower is located on the border of Frenštát pod Radhoštěm and Trojanovice. The open spiritual building symbolizes the residents' disapproval of coal mining in the Beskydy Mountains. The death knell of Dolu Frenštát rings. The initiator of the construction is the civic association Naše Beskydy. The modern design of the belfry is the work of architect Kamil Mrva. Next to the special all-wooden structure with a shingle sheath stand eight-meter masts made of three larch beams, carrying the bell. The construction is based on the Wallachian folk tradition of simple wooden bells. The bell comes from a workshop in Halenkov.
