The church was built in 1622 and consecrated in 1623. Around it is the "old cemetery", where burials took place from 1720 until the mid-19th century. Many important people are buried here. The priest's tomb is mainly worth a visit. The church has undergone a major renovation in the past and was inaugurated on 13 November 1994. Every year it hosts exhibitions of religious objects, vestments and other relics.
