The church is located in the centre of the village of Hukvaldy. The church was built in 1759 in honour of the holy bishop and martyr Maximilian. The building is characterised by two altars - the main one in honour of Saint Maximilian, the side one in honour of the martyr John Sarkander. Interestingly, the local native Leoš Janáček played and composed on the organ here .
