The Baroque building of the former Piarist monastery, gymnasium and college in one, was founded in 1694 by Bishop Charles II of Liechtenstein of Olomouc. By 1700 the main south wing was built, between 1700 and 1712 the west wing was completed and in 1716 an additional short east wing was added. Between 1875 and 1938 it housed the Czech Teacher's Institute. Today the building is used by the elementary art school, the museum and the municipal library. The newly renovated room in the west wing of the building is also used for social events, wedding ceremonies, concerts and lectures. The former refectory, which is now open after a complete renovation, is particularly worth a visit. During the renovation of the façade, the original sgraffito was discovered and restored .
